Department of Climate Change and Energy

Today the Prime Minister appointed Ed Miliband as Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change.

 Ed said:

“I am looking forward to the responsibility of running the new Department of Energy and Climate Change and working with colleagues across government, including in particular Hilary Benn, who has led Britain’s work on climate change with skill and dedication.

“The new department reflects the fact that energy policy and climate change are directly linked.

My job is to make sure our policy on climate change is fair for ordinary families and our policy on energy is sustainable for future generations.

We will do all we can to ensure affordable fuel bills for people, put Britain at the forefront of creating green jobs and play our part in ensuring every country meets the climate change challenge.

Climate change cannot be tackled by politicians on their own but through politicians and people working together.

I look forward to playing my part.”

You can hear Ed outline the objectives for the new Department of Energy and Climate Change in this video.

The tough new climate change programme will be inadequate. The world must learn to take advantage of Fuel Cells using "isothermal oxidation" with their 400% higher efficiency of use of fossil fuels! See my book published by John Wiley and Sons Ltd Chichester ISBN 0-470-01904-2 www.wiley.com The heat engine must be phased out world wide, from its roles as vehicle propulsion system and power production system. A UN sized project of onerous expense, which will for example avoid the release of huge amounts of powerful GHG methane from the Siberian "permafrost" near Yakutsk! Discussion welcome.

I must agree with Fred J. Barclay. The internal combustion engine must be phased out as soon as possible. Most of the fuel used in Heat Engines is wasted as excess heat, hence global warming, which in turn brings more rain storms. The power of the free Force of Gravity has not been used as a power source, now is the time to use it. See it on YouTube in my 8 videos. The link is, 'leadtogold' mechanics. TWS
